The fact is, both positions are the Bible position.<BR/><BR/>Jesus drank wine. The Bible, in no uncertain language, endorses the moderate use of alcohol as a beverage. Up until the rise of the falsely so called "temperance" movement of the mid 1800s the use of alcohol as a beverage was commonly accepted among Baptists.<BR/><BR/>Teetotalism is actually a liberal position which grew out of the same 19th century liberal social movements that spawned feminism.
